Idaho Pick 4 FAQs
Whether you’re completely new to Pick 4 or you’re a regular player, you might have a few questions about how different elements of the game work. Browse through the list below and tap on any queries to bring up the answer.
What is Pick 4?
Pick 4 is a twice-daily lottery which leaves a lot of the choices up to you as a player. You have to select four numbers between 0 and 9, but you can decide on your wager type and wager amount.
When are the draws?
There is a Day draw at 1:59 PM MT, and a Night draw at 7:59 PM MT.
What time do ticket sales close?
Ticket sales close five minutes before each draw takes place, so that is 1:54 PM MT for the Day draw and 7:54 PM MT for the Night draw.
What wager types are available?
You can play Exact Order, Any Order, Exact/Any, Front Pair, Mid Pair or Back Pair. Learn more about each wager type on the

How much can I wager?
You can decide whether to spend $1, $2 or $5 per play. If you add the Sum it up feature, the cost of playing is doubled.
What is Sum it up?
If you add the Sum it up option, you win a prize if the sum of your four numbers matches the total of the four drawn numbers. It does not matter how many of the numbers you match, as long as the sum is the same. The prize amount is different for each sum, but it can be worth as much as $5,000.
How much can I win on Pick 4?
Prizes are based on your wager type and wager amount. The maximum payout is $25,000, for a $5 Exact Order wager. Go to the

What are the odds of winning?
The odds of any four-digit combination between 0000 and 9999 being drawn are 1 in 10,000. Your chances of winning an Any Order or Exact/Any Order wager depend on how many ways you play – from 4-Way to 24-Way.
What are 4-Way, 6-Way, 12-Way and 24-Way plays?
This is how many possible winning combinations there for a set of numbers. A 4-Way play has three identical numbers (such as 1112), a 6-Way has two sets of pairs (e.g. 3344), a 12-Way has two identical numbers and two that are unique (e.g. 5567) and a 24-Way has four different numbers (e.g. 8901).
Can I play multiple consecutive draws?
Yes, you can play the same numbers for up to 70 consecutive draws.
How old do I have to be to play Pick 4?
The minimum age to play Pick 4 in Idaho is 18.
How do I claim a prize if I win?
You can claim prizes below $600 from Idaho Lottery retailers or by mail. For larger amounts, you can either mail in your winning ticket or visit the Idaho Lottery HQ in Boise. The address for mail-in claims is Idaho Lottery, P.O. Box 8687, Boise, ID 83707.
How long do I have to claim a prize?
All lottery prizes in Idaho must be claimed within 180 days of the relevant draw date.
Will my prize be taxed?
Prizes of more than $5,000 are subject to federal tax at 24 percent, plus an additional 5.695 percent in state tax.
